Mo’s Fabrics: Starting out

I started Mo’s Fabrics nearly 14 years ago and its turned out to be one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.

It’s fun and social and I get to play with all the fabulously pretty fabrics every day- and getting to sew. Being creative is not just a job but so much more.

In 2004 I had the opportunity to buy an existing business in Rugby that would give me the chance to become self employed and to expand and utilise my passion for sewing.

Once I was in the shop I built it up to include a wide range of fabrics and dancewear. Over the past few years, however, trends have changed and I’m seeing many more quilters and patchworkers through the door. This has prompted me to expand the selection of materials and tools I offer in the shop and online. I now have a large customer base who don’t just come to me for fabrics, they pop in with hot chocolate, cakes and a chat.

We launched the website in 2015 and offer a huge range of fabrics and haberdashery – you lot are definitely keeping me busy!

Thank you to my lovely customers – past, present and hopefully future!
